It's off to the Bigotdrome on Saturday, for the first Old Firm encounter of the season.

Both sides are unbeaten in league action so far, although only Rangers have a 100% league record.

Out of the two sides, Celtic will surely be happier with their midweek performance in Europe, storming to a 2-0defeat of Lyon. Rangers, however, only managed a 1-1 draw against a poor 10 man Panathanikos side in Greece.

It's all very well to discuss form guides and how welleach team are playing, but as we have seen before, that all goes out of the window on Old Firm day.

On the injury front, Celtic welcome back Joos Valgaeren, but Paul Lambert and JohanMjallby are still on the sidelines along with many others.

Martin O'Neill faces a problem in how to dealwith the suspension of Bobo Balde. Balde was stupidly sent off last week at Easter Road and will not play in Saturday's game.

O'Neill can gamble and use Valgaeren in defence, although the Belgianhas not played a game since Partick Thistle at the end of August. He could also look towards Michael Gray or Stephen Crainey. Chris Sutton can also play in defence, but I would rather have the big man playing in attack.

Liam Miller has also staked his claim for a starting place, and with Stan Petrov's form showing signs of deterioration, don't be surprised if the young Irishman starts the game.

Rangers' defence has yet to be really tested this season. Players like Berg and Ball shouldn't worry the likes of Larsson and Hartson, and they will see no danger.

The midfield battle will be between the Rangers pairing of Arteta and Emerson, and whoever plays alongside Neil Lennon for Celtic - Petrov or Miller. Arteta showed last season in Old Firm games that he doesn't take too much of an interest, and we know that Lennon will match himall the way. We have been hearing allabout Emerson's "strength" but after watching him a few times, he is easily knocked off the ball and if players get in about him he shouldn't pose too much of a threat.

The Celtic support will be in full voice and the atmosphere - as always - will be something special.

Here's hoping the Bhoys will be top of the league by Satuirday evening.
