Lyon v Celtic
UEFA Champions League Matchday 6
Wednesday 10th December 2003
Stade Gerland, Lyon
Live on Sky Sports 2, Kick off 7.45

Tomorrow night, Celtic play their biggest game since Seville. Dermott Desmond is on the official Celtic website today claiming that if we qualify it will be on par with the achievements of last season.

Celtic need a result tomorrow night. A win will keep us at the top of Group A, whereas a loss could see us rock bottom. As well as a result from us, we are looking for the Bayern and Anderlecht game to end up in anything but a draw.

We're not in the best of shape for the game, but we couldn't have asked for a better form guide.

Injuries include Jackie McNamara and Didier Agathe, while Alan Thompson is suspended.  There are however, able replacements for these players.  I suspect Michael Gray will start, as well as Johan Mjallby.  Liam Miller must begin the game, as his appearance against Lyon at Celtic Park changed the game, and he also looked lively against Anderlecht away.

Lyon are a top class side, we know that.  They are going to have to come out and attack us, but this suits our syle of play fine.  Hopefully we can prodice an away performance ranking alongside Stuttgart and Liverpool last season, where we played mostly on the counter attack and managed to get goals.

One thing we cannot be guilty of is sitting back and playing for a draw.  We have also tried this in the past and have failed miserably.  We are at our best when we attack teams and go for goals.

It's going to be tricky, but I have every bit of faith in the team.  Hopefully we'll get the victory and be seeded in the next stage, however, qualification would be a massive achievement on its own.

If you're going to Lyon, have a good one.

Celtic-Mad Prediction:  Lyon 1-1 Celtic
