Livingston v Celtic

Bank Of Scotland SPL

Sunday 24th October 2004

Almondvale Stadium, Livingston

Kick Off 2pm, Live On Setanta SPL

Once again we have an away game after a Champions League game. Once again we will have to pick ourselves up from a hard-hitting defeat. Once again we have to prove to the country how resilient a team we actually are.

Almondvale is our next stop, as The Celtic Machine rolls on. A second half slaughtering in The Ukraine was hard to take but we need to forget about it and move on. Defensive disasters sometimes go unpunished in the SPL but on a higher leve, we were taught a lesson.

The loss of Chris Sutton and Jackie McNamara midweek was probably the biggest cause to our downfall, and it is unknown whether they will take part in tomorrow’s game. Information has been mysteriously missing regarding the two players but McNamara’s stretchering off suggests he will be out for a while, and Sutton’s concussion could rule him out for a couple of weeks.

We may see the inclusion of a few youngsters in the starting line-up, with Aberdeen coming up on Wednesday, followed by an away day to Motherwell and the visit of Shakhtar the following Tuesday, some of our players could do with a rest. Let’s see McGeady, Wallace, and McManus thrown in tomorrow, it would certainly be more appropriate than to throw them on in Champions League matches!

We shouldn’t have much of a problem tomorrow, but Almondvale is a tricky ground. The pitch is very tight but we should be able to cope, I am sure. Livvy currently sit ninth in the league and have only picked up nine points this season, which is pretty miserable. If we can’t put a few past them tomorrow then we ought to chuck it. Let’s get back to winning ways.

Come On The Hoops!

Prediction:
Livingston 0-4 Celtic
