Dundee 0-1 Celtic

Celtic's finest performance of the season so far ended in a 1-0 victory, against Dundee in the SPL at Dens Park today.

A rocket of a header by Bobo Balde was the only goal of the game after 8 minutes.

Stephen Crainey was taken off injured and replaced with Liam Miller after 20 minutes, giving Martin O'Neill more injury worries for the beginning of our Champions League campaign. Alan Thompson went to left back with Miller slotting into the midfield.

With Didier Agathe getting sent off for a nothing offence in 25 minutes, it was pretty much defensive tactics from the Hoops for the remainder of the game. Agathe fell victim to the cheating of Dundee's Nacho Novo and was sent off by muppet referee Dougie McDonald for alleged shirt pulling. Martin O'Neill was fuming at the decision and will appeal the sending off.

Despite Dundee's one man advantage, they failed to capatalise. A bad miss from a header was about the only first half chance they had, and Celtic were strolling through the game.

In the second half, Celtic played very deep, Henrik Larsson dropping into midfield, leaving John Hartson up-front alone, until he was substituted after 62 minutes for Momo Sylla. Hartson still looks rusty but will be much improved after a few games.

The Dundee support seemed to have an average age of 12, they constantly sang mundane chants towards Neil Lennon, provoking him to raise a middle finger to the sad element of the Dundee fans. When will fans of SPL teams get off this guy's back? It is so boring and we have seen it all before.

The mindless Dundee fans were left embarrased though, when their team failed to have a decent attempt at goal. Lennon waved sarcastically at the Dundee fans, who were sent home with no points.

So a great victory for Celtic, and a superb performance, despite the shuffling of the side.

Next up is some German team named Bayern Munich.
