Celtic 3-0 St Johnstone

Two penalties from John Hartson and a second-half goal by Jamie Smith sealed Celtic's place in the Quarter Finals of the Scottish Cup.

It was a rather dull game, St Johnstone only attempting shots at goal from a couple of free-kicks, and the Celtic players not looking too interested.

Paul Lambert was the only starterwho played against Stuttgart on Thursday night, there were many changes to the team. Xavier Sanchez Broto started in goal, Laursen, Mjallby and Crainey were the back three, while Sylla, Fernandez, Guppy and Healy joined Lambert in midfield. John Hartson and Jamie Smith started up-front.

Quite a poor attendance of just over 26,000 were at the game today, these are the people who should be guaranteed tickets for the final, should we get there.

Hartson's two goals came from penalties, which were both stone-wallers, while Jamie Smith scored a well taken goal, set up by Hartson.

There was nothing else to really report about, apart from young keeper David Marshall making his debut, with 8 minutes to go, he replaced Broto to get some match practise, in case he is called upon in Germany.

All in all it was a comfortable victory for Celtic and the main thing is we are through.

So the draw for the Quarters will be made tomorrow night, and it's off to Stuttgart on Thursday.
