Celtic 2-0 Ross County

John Hartson and Paul Lambert sealed Celtic's victory today, both players scoring in the second period to give Celtic a 2-0 win over Ross County.

It was hardly a vintage Celtic performance, a crowd of 30,000 came along, including a healthy 4,000 from the highlands.

Martin O'Neill brought in Ross Wallace, Paul Lambert and Shaun Maloney, and rather surprisingly, big guns Henrik Larsson, Chris Sutton and John Hartson also started the game.

It was a horrible day in Paradise, and Celtic weren't playing out of first gear. Despite that, it was a totally one sided first half, Shaun Maloney came closest.

We all know what happened the last time a highland side visited Parkhead, but there was to be no repeat of that scoreline today, as Celtic managed to grab a goal just as the fans were becoming restless.

A Ross Wallace cross was headed home by John Hartson, to the anger of Ross County's Jim Lauchlan, who felt he had been pushed by the Welshman.

Henrik Larsson should have scored but his header bounced back off the post.

Paul Lambert sealed the Bhoys' victory, when his long range effort was deflected into the net.

Celtic:

Balde - 7
Sutton - 6
McNamara - 7
Wallace - 8
