Celtic 1-1 Liverpool

A furious start from Celtic gave Henrik Larsson a 2nd minute goal on his return to first team football, after fracturing his jaw in February.

Celtic started with three forwards Larsson, Hartson and Sutton, who dropped into midfield. Apart from Jamie Smith filling in for Didier Agathe, it was the same team who defeated Rangers on Saturday.

John Hartson rattled the crossbar after only 14 seconds, and an Alan Thompson cross was tumbled in by Henrik just over a minute later.

Parkhead erupted, and an early goal was just what the Bhoys needed.

The Anfield side took a while to settle down and were clearly blown away by the Celtic support. When they got going, Liverpool showed what a class act they are. They possess great pace, and plenty of world-class players.

The Bhoys took a blow when Alan Thompson was substituted after a follow through by Stephen Gerrard - Steve Guppy replaced him.

Some of Celtic's players were clearly frightened of Liverpool's stars - Stan Petrov was shown up by the Liverpool midfield.

Liverpool's equaliser came when Jamie Smith was caught napping, Risse sprinted down the left wing, and Emile Heskey finished with ease.

There were not many clear cut chances in the rest of the game. Bobo Balde played out of his skin tonight, hardly allowing Owen a touch of the ball. Stan Petrov has got to get a grip of himself, to suggest that he will get a wage rise is an absoloute joke, he was nowhere to be seen tonight, and has hardly kicked a ball all season.

The game ended when scumbag Diouf spat at the Celtic family section. The Celtic fans were outraged, and the spit enraged two of the Celtic fans to try and attack him on the park. As we left the stadium, fans were giving statements and hopefully he will get charged.

Celtic are not out of the tie by any means. We are well capable of going to Anfield and getting a goal or two, and hopefully The Bhoys can do the business in Liverpool next week.
