Strachan under pressure to shift Lennon

Last updated : 19 March 2007 By Jack Kennedy
Celtic Manager Gordon Strachan has been forced to think about the future of Captain Neil Lennon after complaints made to the club and police by Falkirk fans after yesterdays game.

Lennon who is always popular with the Celtic support has succumbed to pressure over the last few months and has been seen to "Lose the plot" at some point in his last six games. Strachan is aware that the Player has suffered from some mental problems in the past and has stuck by his captain but is now getting fed up with the players erratic behaviour.

The Fans are split almost exactly 50/50 over Lennon as many fans stick to their faithful through and through way of life and would never under any circumstances say anything critical about a hoops player.

Other fans have been saying that Lennon should never play for the team again after the player dropped the captains armband to the floor (or more accurately threw it to the ground). The latest One fingered salute to the Falkirk fans does not seem to be appropriate to the position of being Celtic Captain and It is thought that the powers that be at Celtic park have expressed their concerns to Manager Strachan.
