Ticket Office Blues

I have just arrived back from Celtic Park, where I was to collect tickets for Motherwell, Sevilla and the Scottish Cup Final. I arrived at the ground at around 8.45 this morning, and queued until 1.15pm. There are thousands of Celtic fans there.

Anyone going down to wait for tickets will be told that there is at least a four hour wait. Fans turning up after 4pm will be sent away, and told to return tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the last day for season ticket holders to guarantee their seat for the Henrik Larsson game against Sevilla. I expect waiting times to be worse than they were today. If going, get there early, at around 8am.

A box has been brought out where anyone can put cheques into envelopes, along with their vouchers. This applies also for season ticket renewals, and helps you avoid waiting.

Part of the problem here is that the Ticket Office staff simply cannot handle the demand from the fans. Recently there have been job losses in the office to cut costs, which is totally ridiculous. Inside, there are five computers sitting empty, while the other six are used be the staff. They need more resources and more staff if they are to satisfy demand.

Fair play to the Ticket Office workers, and do keep up the good work.
