THOMPSON FAILS IN PLEA FOR JUSTICE

Alan Thompson has failed in his appeal to have his red card, from Saturday's game with Aberdeen, upheld.

The Celtic midfielder will now miss Sunday's old firm game. Strangely, Aberdeen's Zerouali had his red card reduced to yellow and will now be available for selection at the Weekend.

Thompson's suspension further adds to the problems Martin O'Neill has in putting as strong an eleven as possible on the pitch come Sunday.
