There is only one Gordon Strachan!

Set the scene: - Rugby Park 22nd April 2007 14:45. The Killie farmers are in full song with the sartorial "we're only here for the party" and the Ayrshire anthem "the Killie boys" as the last minutes of the 90 are played out.

Shunsuke Nakamura dusts himself down after being fouled for the 30 Millionth time this season and curls the most sublime, well executed well placed free kick that ever won a league.

When he was shaping the kick up I was reminded of Davie Provan lining up his free kick in the '85 cup final with Archie MacPherson's words "Only twice before has a goal been scored directly from a free kick. Is this a piece of history"? The 'stato' in me wondered if the League Championship had ever been won in such a manner? Not on my watch.

I never thought that Naka would hit the target with that one and I later chastised myself for doubting the sheer genius of the man.

It was a massive GIRUY to the Killie support who were mixing it and the Killie players who celebrated Colin Nish's 50th minute equaliser as though it was the winner in the Champions League final!

I would like to congratulate WGS on his humility and kinship with the support by bringing children. To those who feel he is not aware of what it means to be the manager of a team that is "more than a football club" I say this shows that he is!

What can we say about Nakamura that hasn't been said already? We really are running out of superlatives to describe this man! Yes he doesn't tackle and yes he gets caught on the ball but the delight that this man can bring to the support is second to none in the SPL at the moment and this was proven when he was voted the best player in the land by his peers.

So what now for our Hooped Heroes? I for believe that it is time to rest the main players such as Naka, JVH McManus etc and bring in some of the fringe players and give some of the young guns such as our Icelandic duo and Shepard a run out in the run in.

Yours in the Championship and getting it right up the farmers!
