Strachan hints at one more new face

Celtic manager Gordon Strachan has insisted that Celtic may not be finished in the transfer market for this particular window. He said: "We've sealed one deal in Andreas. But we have not looked at too many more - there might only be one player who comes in."

Strachan also revealed that right back Mark Wilson is almost ready to return to top team action. He said, "the good news is that Mark Wilson is coming back as well."

One player who is not Parkhead bound is highly rated Belgian stopper Daniel Van Buyten. The 29-year-old went on record this week saying he would consider a loan move to the Scottish champions after falling out of favour at Bayern Munich.

Earlier this week, Van Buyten said: "Celtic is one of my options. I have not spoken with them, but I know their coach has asked for details about me. Scotland is a fabulous country for football and the atmosphere is great.

"I arrived at Bayern with great hopes. My objective was to win a fight to win a place in the team and play in every match. Unfortunately, this has not been possible and I am unhappy about the situation. After I speak with Bayern I will know my future, but I will discount nothing. There are also interested clubs in England, but the final decision is down to Bayern."

But reports yesterday suggest Van Buyten will remain with the Bundesliga giants and fight for his place after holding talks with incoming manager Jurgen Klinsmann, who takes over from Ottmar Hitzfeld in the summer.

In other news, Gordon Strachan was spotted last night taking in a FA Cup-tie between Man City and West Ham United. We can't imagine that Strachan was there for a romantic evening with his wife, can you?

Yours in Celtic
