Strachan Bemoans Poor Celtic Performance.

Yesterday at 14:30 things could not have been better in Timland. The forces of darkness had yet again succumbed to the footballing maestros of Dundee, dropping two points against United and all was well.

Fast forward an couple of hours and things were not as rosy. Celtic had failed to turn up in the home game against Hearts and had been lucky to secure a point after possibly the worst first half performance in a long time.

And to add insult to injury it would appear that we have lost the services of Shaun Maloney till at least the New Year. Could it get any worse? Well, yes, it could as the news came in from Norwich that John Kennedy had to be carried off at Carrow Road after an injury to his weak knee.

Gordon Strachan was honest in his appraisal of his teams woeful performance; " It was a poor half for us," he said. "The worst performance for a long, long time."

Strachan was quick to point out that the midweek game against Villarreal should not be used to excuse the performance stating "We were poor, I'll leave it at that," They were spirited and we must be happy with a point after that first half.

It is not often that you can say that you are happy with a point after a home game in the SPL but on yesterdays evidence I cant really discagree with that. Yes the day could have been worse had Rangers managed to secure all three points but I see the results of yesterday more as an opportunity lost than a lucky escape.

Yours in Celtic
