SPL Rule Change

Last updated : 22 January 2004 By Kevin Smith
From the beginning of next season, there will be some rule changes for all Scottish Premier League clubs.

Teams will be allowed seven substitutes, rather than the present five, bringing matchday squads up to eighteen. Teams will have to include at least three players under the age of 21.

Scotland's Under 21's league will return to its original form, a reserve team league with no age restrictions.
