The Former Rangers boss believes it is the 'perfect draw' and knows he will be unpopular when Blackburn turn out at Celtic Park.

"This is unquestionaly a tie that excites me greatly," he said. "For all the right reasons, it's the perfect draw and one I was genuinely hoping for."

"I know I'll need the old tin hat when we go to Celtic," said the former Scotland international, who will take his English Premiership side to Celtic Park on 31 October.

"But it won't be the first I've needed that in my career and it probably won't be the last.

"There's no secret to how they play up there. It's in-your-face football on and off the pitch and I can't wait.

"There's nothing like a Scotland v England encounter to get people roused.

"My players will be up for it, I will be up for it, I'm sure Celtic will be up for it, so everything is in place for a cracking contest."
