Every year, during the pre-season, Celtic are linked with almost every player under the sun. At a guess, if we are linked with fifty players during the close season, about six of they leads will be true, and probably only two players will sign.
This year, we have already seen ourselves bidding for Nacho Novo, Rivaldo, Basturk, Nicky Butt, Roy Keane and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, to name but a few. There has probably been truth in one or two of the rumours so far, but nothing has come of it yet.
It's about time people stopped swallowing everything that the tabloids are throwing at us. The speculation as to who we are lined up to buy is getting outrageously boring. Yawn.
Every day, someone will pose the question, "Who are we gonnae sign?" I do not know. The newpapers do not know. The only person in the world who knows the answer to that question is Mr Martin O'Neill. Try asking him.
Until then, don't read the garbage printed on tomorrow's chip wrappers.
