Samaras: There's one Maradona, one Zidane, one McGeady

"I'm delighted Aiden is back." said Samaras "He's a great player and we missed him when he was injured. I knew about him even when I was in England. He is a natural talent and at 22 has a big future. Aiden can provide that extra special spark you need and could play anywhere in the world for any club. When things aren't going well he can make one movement and turn a game round. For example, against Aberdeen in September the winning goal came from one special moment by him."

"Aiden can produce magic. We had one Maradona, one Zidane and there is only one McGeady." added the striker "After going out of Europe the only thing to focus on now is the league and cups. We must win everything. We have a good squad with a lot of quality and I'm sure we can do it."

Samaras is still feeling the pain of the Champions League exit and he shoulders a large share of the blame following glaring misses against Aalborg just over two weeks ago "I cannot turn back time and fix these things. It happened and I can't have regrets." he said "But Wednesday's game was the first in which I've felt free from injury. I'm going to find my form again after that performance. It's not easy when you have been playing well before your injury to get back to that level right away."

"But my team-mates and manager supported me when I was having some bad games and I'm back now. The only thing that matters is to learn from the mistakes we've made during our six group games in time for next season." he continued " I don't know if we deserved to go through to the next round or the UEFA Cup - we finished bottom of the group and can't change that. Fourth place is not good enough for Celtic. But we played some good football and created lots of chances in all six matches."

"There were small details we missed - a spark, a killer instinct. In our opening game against Aalborg we lost points on fine details - same away to Villarreal and at home to Manchester United. Next season we must be more focused." said Samaras "Villarreal are a great team full of fabulous players. They move the ball so quickly and are one of the top four sides in Spain but we aren't too far off them. You saw it in the first game when we played well but lost to a free-kick. It was a fine detail again."

"On Wednesday we were clear 2-0 winners. Some people will say that was against 10 men but before the red card we were playing good stuff. Champions League nights are great and it's enjoyable to play in those kind of games." added Georgios "Celtic are a massive club and I'm so glad I joined because I'm loving every second of my time here. It's a great group and there's a real spirit in the dressing-room."
