Pre-Derby game war of words

Last updated : 03 May 2007 By Clydebuilt

I awake today to headlines in our old foe the Daily Rectum that will guaranteed that Brahim Hemdami will never be able to scratch his own nose again (very hard to do in a straight jacket)!

The article starts off

CELTS ARE NO BETTER THAN US

By Hugh Keevins

BRAHIM HEMDANI lit the blue touch paper under Saturday's Old Firm game by saying Celtic didn't win the title because they're a better team than Rangers.

The Frenchman, whose a draw when the sides met at Ibrox in December, insists consistency and not quality is all that separates the two teams.

Strange logic but we will go with it for now, cant forgive the strange use of grammar though. Does any one understand the following sentence? "The Frenchman, whose a draw when the sides met at Ibrox in December"

So by using the Ibrox midfielders logic, does that mean that Dunfermline are also as good a team as us or are we just more consistent?

He continues "He said: "The reason we didn't win the league this season was not because Celtic were better than us in terms of football. It was because of a lack of consistency on Rangers' part and because we dropped too many points against the bottom teams."

Surely you need a bit of quality to beat these teams Brahim? It would appear that all this winning the POTY award from the Rangers fans has went to his head. Imagine what would happen if he actually won a trophy!!!

So does he have more quality than his Rangers team mates or was he just more consistent.

History tell us that when a player shouts his mouth off in this fashion prior to a game like this it usually comes back and slaps them on the face (remember that one Fernando?)

Lets hope history repeats itself again

Yours in Celtic
