The two clubs have been locked in discussions for a couple of months over the signing of the Scotland Under 21 internationalist, and the fee is thought to be around 300,000 pounds.
Negotiations will now take place between Pearson and the club, to discuss his personal terms, and the hope is that the deal will be completed over the next couple of days.
The rumours around the messageboards are that Pearson will sign on a four year contract, worth about 9,000 pounds per week.
