Celtic have today revealed their new Head of International Scouting: Ray Clarke, formerly Chief Scout at Newcastle United.

Ray played for a host of clubs in his playing days, including Ajax, Brugges and Tottenham Hotspur.

He said today, "It is a wonderful honour to take up this position with Celtic and this is a new challenge which I am looking forward to immensely.  Celtic is one of the biggest clubs in football and I am eager to start working closely with Gordon Strachan and other members of the football management team to ensure that we bring success to the Club"

In Martin O'Neill's time at Celtic, only two players were signed from outside the UK. Gordon Strachan has brought in players from throughout Europe, such as Maciej Zurawski, Artur Bouc and Shunsuke Nakamura.

All the best to Ray in his new position.
