Nakamura's Future Uncertain as he refuses to Rule out Staying Put

Last updated : 02 March 2009 By Clydebuilt
Shunsuke Nakamura has stated that he is unwilling to discuss his future ahead of the end of the season, instead insisting that he would prefer to remain settled and committed to winning four in a row. Nakamura however did not rule out the prospect of remaining in Scotland beyond the end of his current deal.

Maybe I will stay here, maybe I will move to another league or maybe I will go back to Japan "No one knows - I don't know.

"However, I want to concentrate only on Celtic for the moment.

"I am only interested in winning the title for the fourth season in a row.

"That is more important to me than my future.

"I don't know if I am going to stay.

"I could have left in January but the situation changed and you never know what can happen in the summer.

"I am not worried about it. I am concentrating only on winning the next match."

That reads to me that the player is avoiding giving the hacks the answer they want. It is typical of journalism in this country though. A player supplies a man of the match performance for Celtic and is then asked by the hacks how long he is staying!

You couldn't make it up could you?

Yours in Celtic
