Celtic's Shunsuke Nakamura has poured cold water on the stories accusing the Japanese squad of being split into cliques and personality clashes causing chaos in the camp. Nakamura has laughed off such suggestions and says that this time round Japan have a new philosophy and are intending to play football in a more swashbuckling samba style. Nakamura says " Japanese people tend to be more polite and formal than most and our players up till now have been fairly reserved. This time round however we are trying a new approach and if it works for Brazil it can work for us. One or Two of the player however prefer to stay on their own a bit more than others and this includes my friend Hidetoshi Nakata. This has been interpreted by some of the press as a split in the camp which is simply not true."
