Shunsuke a doubt for Milan game and WGS to go in front of the beaks tomorrow.
Good afternoon all, I hope you didn’t miss me too much!
After a pleasant trip to Canadia with the better half playing spot the Scottish Football Strips (It was good to see the hoops proudly displayed in the window of the Nike Shop in Toronto’s Queen Street whilst the only Rangers top visible was on an old drunk in the Beaches district). I return to bore you with my predictable musings and rehashes of today’s news stories.
The news that star man Shunsuke Nakamura could be unavailable through injury for the next three weeks has caused consternation amongst the faithful and glee within the hordes. It is reported that an injury sustained in the second leg of the qualifier with Moscow may rule Nak out of the Milan tie. Speaking to Setanta (Not Sultana, Santana …etc) the Japanese genius said "I have damaged the outer ligament of my left knee, and the Celtic team doctor told me it would be two to three weeks before I could get back to full fitness".
"If it proves possible I'd like to play in the Milan game, but we will see. It's only painful when I try to kick the ball with force.
"I can get by, but when I think about the long season ahead, perhaps it would be better to get the problem sorted sooner rather than later. If not, I could aggravate it even more."
Get well soon Naka
Meanwhile Boss Gordon Strachan will learn his fate today. Strachan
was banished to the stand by referee Stuart Dougal for "dissent by word and action" during a match against Hearts on 29 March.Strachan is also appealing against his sending-off at Aberdeen on 19 August, with a date yet to be set. Should the Celtic boss be found guilty of both charges, he will be hit with a 10-match suspension.
Surely common sense will prevail in the case at Pittodrie as the only individual who should e censured is the Aberdeen Steward who instigated the entire debacle. This portly gentleman was surely acting outwith his remit and had he any concerns over the Celtic bench he should have voiced them to the Police and not the Manager directly.
I cant envisage the SFA clearing him of the charges at Swinecastle however, but at least he wont have to suffer a ten match ban if he gets off with the Pittodrie charge.
More to follow on this later
Yours in Celtic
