MJALLBY BLAMES RICKSEN FOR OLD FIRM FRACAS

Johan Mjallby has laid the blame for Sunday's old firm fracas firmly at the door of Rangers defender Fernando Ricksen.

Mjalby, whos was red carded along with Ricksen and Welshman John Hartson, is certain the the Dutchman's over the top reaction to his challenge on Rangers goalkeeper Stephan Klos was the catalyst for what followed:

"I don't know why Ricksen reacted the way he did. The ball was there to be won and Henrik Larsson and myself tried to get a foot to put it into the goal.

"You have to go for challenges like that and I would have gone for it in a friendly game, never mind one as important as the Old Firm.

"I should have been more cool but the only reason I got so upset was because he shoved me when I was down on the floor."

Speaking on his club's official website, he added: "I feel bad for John Hartson because I was the one to blame. He was just trying to help out."

Despite the sending off Mjallby will be available for the Scottish cup final next week. The Swede is also looking forward to a good world cup in Japan.
