Mark Wilson, Darren O'Dea and club captain Stephen McManus are all suffering from long term injuries so the injury to another defender, Milan Misun, late in the match against Brisbane Roar will be an additional worry for new boss Tony Mowbray. The Czech youngster is a brilliant young prospect and it was predicted in some quarters that he would make the breakthrough into the first team this season. Manager Mowbray described the loss of Misun as a body blow and said that the player will be out for a lengthy spell.

Celtic and AC Milan both pursued the highly rated youngster back in December and the eighteen year-old signed a four year deal with the Celts when he left Czech Republic side FK Pribram. The Czech Under-20 international will undergo scans today to further assess the injury. "It's a bad one for the lad." said Mowbray. "He is now looking at being out for months rather than weeks."

Lee Naylor finds himself the only fit player for the left back position at the moment but the new boss has stated that he'd like to sign at least three or four first team players for the new season. Celtic fans and watchers have cited the position as most needing attention and this latest injury may just be the impetus the boss needs to finally make the quest for a top left-back his main priority.
