Juninho Needs Trust

Juninho has today been quoted in several newspapers, claiming that he has lost the trust of Martin O'Neill.

The Brazillian playmaker has overall failed to impress at Celtic Park, since arriving in August, and fans are understandably losing patience with a player who should be performing much better than what we are seeing.

The SPL hasn't been known for being a great home for Brazillians, and it is obvious that Juninho is struggling to adjust to Scottish football. After spending many years in the Premiership, I do not believe he is unsettled in Scotland as a place. It must be the style of play.

Scottish football is known for being quick and hard. Unlike the English Premiership, players are not given a second to think while on the ball, and attackers are closed down immediatley. This style obviously does not suit Juninho, for whom pace is not a strong point.

Juninho is now second choice in the Celtic squad, behind Aiden McGeady. I would like to see both players playing in the same team, but for many reasons, this will probably not happen.

Now is the time for Juninho to get a run in the side. He is the club's highest earner and it's about time he started justifying his high wages. Starting at Dunfermline on Sunday, he must be given a run of six or seven games. He will soon adjust to the Scottish game and hopefully we will see the Juninho we all know.
