Celtic 'target' has stated that he is interested in a move to Celtic in the summer months. The highly rated 19 year old who is currently employed in the Championship with Coventry has said that he is being monitored by the Parkhead Club and hopes that a good performance against Scotland at Hampden will help him secure a deal.

He said: "I haven't heard anything more about Celtic other than the fact they are still watching me at Coventry. Celtic are a big team with a fantastic support and are regularly in the Champions League.

"That makes them an attractive proposition for any player. I'm young and have plenty of time to think about it.

"I hope to play at Hampden and if I play well I don't think that would do my chances of moving to Celtic any harm.

"I believe our style of football is suited to playing Scotland.

"Iceland have quite a few players now who play in the UK, so of course that will help us in Glasgow on Wednesday."

Gunnarsson started his professional career with local side Por Akuyeri before moving to Holland to develop his skills with AZ Alkmaar. He has won 3 international caps to date and is renowned for having a long throw that would give Stoke City's Rory Delap a run for his money.

Yours in Celtic
