Flood: We don't care what the Huns do

Celtic's recent signing from Dundee United knows how dangerous his former side can be and he insists that the Bhoys can be content to take a point from one of the toughest away fixtures they will face in this campaign. Scott McDonald's goal was scant reward for a great first half performance and it seemed only a matter of time before Celtic added to their goals tally but United hit the ground running in the second half and raced into a 2-1 lead through Spanish striker Sandaza. Lee Naylor's spectacular equalising goal 10 minutes from time ensured that the Celts took a share of the points in a pulsating finish to the game.

Celtic's (other) Irish midfielder knows that the Huns would be perfectly happy if they were sitting at the top of the SPL table at this juncture. "We are in a strong position," said Flood "I'm sure if you asked Rangers, they would love to be in our shoes. Once we start killing games off, the wins will come. We played well in the first half, had a bad 10 minutes after half-time but then we controlled the game. I know how dangerous United are, especially at home. This is one of the toughest places to go."

"It was probably a point gained because we were 2-1 down." he said. "When it's the first half and we're a goal up and playing really well, you think we should go on and win. We got the equaliser but we needed a few more minutes to get a third goal. We were the only team looking for a winner."

Flood insists that Celtic are not unduly concerned with the goings on at Ibrox but he warned the Huns that Craig Levein's side will also make it very difficult for them when they visit Tayside after the split. "Rangers dropping points does take a little pressure off but we don't worry about them." said Willo. "We just need to concentrate on ourselves. If we take the stuff we're doing in training on to the pitch, then we'll pick up wins. United are good enough to finish third or fourth. I have my fingers crossed for them. I'm sure that when Rangers come here, United will make it tough. Every time you come to Tannadice and they get a free-kick or corner, they're dangerous."

Unfortunately for Flood, Celtic's next game against Hamilton Accies is not until April 4th because of the international break but the midfielder is hoping that the resumption of SPL business will coincide with the re-launch of his career. "It's been a nightmare," said Flood regarding his recent inactivity. "I have been training and there has been no game to look forward to so I was happy to be back. I will just keep working hard and hopefully do my best when I get on the park."
