Crosas: Returning to Barcelona is not on the agenda

Marc Crosas is the type of player that I love to see in the Celtic midfield. He is a player you rarely see bombing across the pitch to make last ditch tackles, or indeed a player that you see doing anything that doesn't appear to be effortless; such is his ability to always be naturally at the heart of everything. His range of passing also shows that the ethos of Bobby Murdoch is as true today - the quickest way to get the ball into attack is to pass it.

The worry for Celtic fans with this player is that he is obviously a special player. Not only is he a special player but he is also a player who is 'engaged' to another club, should they pursue their option to buy back the Catalonian. So ultimately the better he plays the more chance we have of losing him!

However this is not a notion that is entering into the young players head. His comments today serve as an affirmation that he is committed to doing well with Celtic and that he is only out to impress one Manager, and thankfully that Manager is not Pepe Guardiola!

"I am not thinking too far. Barcelona have the option to take me back, but that means nothing to me. Now I am a Celtic player and I'm happy about that. I feel I need to show the fans and the people at the Club what I can do."

"There is a manager I want to impress and show I am a good player, and that's Gordon Strachan"

However Marc did hint that he may wish to return home at some stage in his career but also stated that he is happy with his lot here in Scotland.

I am only 21, but I am not thinking to the future. It is true you want to play in your own country and be a big player there, that is only natural. But professionals play abroad in other countries and I am really happy in Scotland."

"I am not learning my football in Scotland to be a better player in Spain. I am learning to be a better player to do well at Celtic."

"Going back to Spain or Barcelona is not something I am thinking about"

Good News indeed!

Yours in Celtic
