Celtic are indeed on a high after last weeks performance and the results in midweek, both teams have played a game during the week so there should be no imbalance of energy and a good tie should be forthcoming, but let us not forget this tie is a potential banana skin.
Marc Crosas was also quick to point out that Celtic's route into the next round is far from destined.
"The result on Saturday will not matter when when we meet again this week," he told the Celtic View.
"The game ended with a good victory for Celtic but that only makes things harder when we go to St Mirren's ground.
"The St Mirren players will be looking to make up for that defeat.
"They will make things difficult for us, because they won't want to accept that loss.
"They will be out to change things."
Whilst many within the support may have one eye on next week's final against Scotland's Shame (good help us poor residents of Mount Florida) it is not generally advised that players get drawn on making comment on their teams next game ahead of an important tie. Crosas did allow himself to, but quickly regained his decorum.
He said: "I am looking forward to that game.
"It will be important for the players and the fans, but I think it's only right that we focus on the other games first. That has to be the priority."
Yours in Celtic
