Thompson was ordered off in the first half, when he appeared to 'headbutt' Peter Lovenkrands. The truth is, Thompson barely touched him, yet Lovenkrands fell to the ground and began rolling around, clutching his face as if he had been shot.
Thompson is due to serve a suspension, but hopefully the red will be reduced to yellow, which would allow him to play against Dundee on Sunday.
