Celtic will not receive any money from Mark Viduka's proposed transfer from Leeds Utd to Middlesbrough.
When Celtic sold the Aussie striker to Leeds in 2000, Martin O'Neill included a clause in the contract, stating Celtic would be entitled to some sort of payment if Viduka moved on from Leeds. The clause was a sharp move by O'Neill, as Viduka was once reported to be worth £10 Million.
It was revelaed today that Celtic would only receive a cut of the transfer fee if it was to exceed the £6 Million Leeds paid for him. With Boro only set to pay £4 Million for him, Celtic will lose out.
It is another blow in the transfer saga we are currently going through. We need new signings and a couple of Million would have helped us splash out.
But the big nutcase has let us down again.
