The Hoops were cruising the Group A fixture through goals from Leigh Griffiths and Kris Commons until a bad mistake by the Nigeria defender two minutes from the break allowed substitute Fernandao to pull a goal back.
The Brazilian striker, on in the 40th minute for the injured Volkan Sen, headed in his second three minutes after the restart from a corner after he had escaped the attention of Ambrose and in the end the Parkhead side had to settle for a point.
The Norwegian said: "When you are defending you need to keep concentration for 90 minutes and that is the biggest challenge Efe has.
"He plays 88 minutes very good but he sometimes makes some easy mistakes and today was one of them.
"As a defender you have to keep concentration for 90 minutes.
"I think we played well in the first half, we got 2-0 up and it was important to keep that lead into the break.
"I thought we would have had a very good chance in the second half but we conceded an easy goal and that gave them energy and put us on the back foot a little bit.
"They had us for 15 minutes in the second half, they didn't create a lot but got the second goal from the set-play and it was disappointing that they scored with the two chances they had.
"In the second half I think we were a little bit too deep
We made some changes and got more into the game and we kept the ball more.
"You can see that when we believe in ourselves, and we dare to play football, we are a good team and that's what we have to do more.
"We have to really go for it and play our system and defend as high up the pitch as possible.
"Sometimes you have to get deeper but we have to keep the ball more.
"But we finished well with some good passing and good crossing situations in their half."
Molde, who beat Fenerbahce 3-1 in the group opener, drew 1-1 against Ajax to leave them top of the group with four points.
The Norwegian outfit are two points ahead of Celtic and the Dutch side and their next two games are a double-header against the Hoops.
Deila said: "Yes, I am a little bit disappointed that we didn't win, but I am happy that we got a point and the group is still very open.
"We have to take the positive things as well
I am very happy with Kieran Tierney in his (European) debut, Scott Brown was fantastic in the midfield and worked really hard and James Forrest - what a difference we can see in him from half a year ago.
"So there are positive things there.
"But for me, I want to see us more on the ball, I want to see us braver on the ball to develop our own play and that is going to be the key for the future."
