Brown Not concerned About Missing the Rangers Game as Maloney Stakes Claim for Ibrox Place

Scott Brown has stated today that he is unperturbed about missing the upcoming six-pointer against Rangers - as long as his team mates do the business and finally see off the challengers to Celtic's crown.

However Brown is more than confident that his team can finish the season as champions, so much so that he is hopeful that it could be clinched before he returns from suspension.

I definitely want them to win it before I come back.

"As long as we win it that's the main thing. It doesn't matter who plays because it is a team game in the end and it comes down to what Celtic do.

"If we win this league that is more important than me playing games"

Brown was out of contention this season, also due to picking up a suspension and he feels that this gives him confidence whilst watching from the stands.

"I got suspended last season but we had people like Barry Robson and Paul Hartley playing centre midfield.

"They were brilliant and I couldn't get back into the team but we managed to win the league.

"I didn't get back in but it was my own fault I got the bookings. I knew it was going to be three games and that was stupid.

"My discipline is better now. I've not picked up so many stupid yellow cards. Everyone is going to get booked in the position I play.

"I think the two-match ban this time was harsh but that's the rule. I'm just gutted to be missing out on the Old Firm match."

In other squad news, Shaun Maloney fired himself into contention with a starring role in the reserves 4-0 rout of Dundee United, which saw the B team clinch the title.

Maloney set up one goal and scored a superb solo effort to help the reserves to their eight title on the bounce.

Yours in Celtic
