Brian Quinn

Standing in a half empty Celtic park due to some dodgy ticketing technology I was bathed in sunshine and had that feeling you always get on the first day of the season, you know the one, where the hairs on the back of your neck are standing up and you again feel part of the great Celtic family. The unfurling of the championship flag was about to be done and I was very interested to see how our Chairman Brian Quinn would be received. I remembered the boo bhoys a few years ago and I remember thinking that at that time they may have had a point due to the fact that we had spent very little on players but I reckoned we would have learned our lesson,

We had romped the league last season, We have cut debts and have a healthy outlook as a club and a plc, We have strengthened the squad and are looking to get more players in. So you should be ok Brian I thought.

Quinn gets introduced to a loud chorus of jeers which after five seconds turned to loud applause as the vast majority of the Celtic support applauded the man in response to the jeers, Two very loud supporters directly behind me were very loud in their jeering of Quinn and I turned round and asked them why they where booing " dunno mate, a few others were doing it so he must have done something wrong so we joined in". Brian Quinn left the field to loud applause and hopefully some of the people who acted like sheep may have learned a lesson. We Are The Champions.
