Bobo wants to stay and fight for his place

Bobo Balde has snubbed a move to the Black Cats and vowed to stay at Celtic and fight for his place. Speaking to the Chip Wrappers Bobo said, "I have made it clear in the past that I am very happy at Celtic and I am not interested in anything else, I love the club, I am very settled in Glasgow and I would be happy to fulfil my current contract.

"As far as I am concerned nobody has spoken to me about a move anywhere. I just want to be fit and ready for the start of the new season.

"I am just concentrating on getting my fitness back to where it was. Last season was one to forget and I want to get back to my best."

I can’t see Bobo being a first pick next season, so at a reported 35K a week he will be an expensive understudy. On the other hand it would be good to call upon his services if we were to face a big physical side such as Copenhagen I the Champions League.

Maybe a re-negotiation of his contract is required, if he really is happy here and loves the club as much as he proclaims he may be willing to take a pay cut or change onto a more appearance based contract. The ball would firmly be in Bobo’s court on this but if he really wants to stay then he may have no option.

Let’s see if he is being sincere Lawwell

Yours in Celtic
