Speculation is mounting as to Celtics interest in the Hibernian mid fielder Scott Brown. sources at Parkhead say that manager Gordon Strachan is poised to make an offer for the hard tackling 21 year old Scotland Internationalist who is nicknamed Broonaldo by the Easter Road faithful.
Brown, who made his debut in May 2003 against Aberdeen has played 90 games and scored 11 goals from his midfield position, is considered to be a big potential by Scotland boss Walter Smith and has earmarked him for the up coming tough Euro 2008 qualifying matches.

Gordon Strachan who is a big admirer of the Dunfermline born hard tackler has been watching him closely throughout the season and reckons his lack of goals from midfield would improve greatly once at Celtic. A friend of Brown's said on Monday "Scott has heard of Celtic's interest and is absolutely overwhelmed at the thought of playing in the Champions League, I think he would walk down the M8 to sign" Hibernian supporters will be seething that they could loose another of their young stars to the Glasgow giants after the departure of Gary Caldwell and Derek Riordan to Parkhead, both on Bosman transfers. A angry supporter said yesterday "I'm fed up with Celtic pinching all our players, it is time for support to voice their displeasure at the board. We are not a feeder club for the like of Celtic"
