Agent expects Fortune will fly to Australia with the Hoops

Despite the higher wages on offer at the interested EPL clubs, and the prestige of playing in that league, Fortune's agent Michael Manuello expects to follow the striker to Glasgow this week to finalise the deal which will see the player reunited with Celtic boss Tony Mowbray. Mogga had the striker at West Brom on a loan deal last season and the powerful forward has been the manager's number one target since he stepped into the Celtic Park hotseat. Now the £3.8m forward will become the first signing of the Mowbray reign as the new gaffer begins to stamp his own mark on the team.

"Marc has made his decision and he will be in Glasgow on Tuesday." said Manuello. "He will look around the club and do some things which I do not need to be at. We still have some details to discuss with Celtic. It is nothing major but with every transfer you have to take care."

"There are some discussions to be finished but if things are normal he will sign for Celtic." declared the agent. "I'll arrive on Tuesday night and I expect that by Wednesday night everything will be okay for him to sign. We are aware that the squad is going to their training camp in Australia on Thursday."

It was thought that West Ham, Hull, Fulham and Portsmouth were all prepared to pay Fortune more for his services and it is so refreshing in these days of obscene wages that a player is prepared to limit his financial ambition in pursuit of footballing dreams and all credit must go to the manager who persuaded the Frenchman that his dreams could be realised in Paradise. The striker now looks set to make his debut in the Hoops against Brisbane Roar on Sunday.
