Celtic v Motherwell
Bank of Scotland SPL
Sunday 14th March 2004
Celtic Park
Kick Off 1.30

With Hibs and Livingston taking part in the CIS Insurance Cup Final tomorrow, Celtic's home SPL match with Motherwell has been brough forward an hour or two, presumably for traffic congestion reasons. Or could it be that the SPL have helped us out by giving us time to race home and see 'the big game'?

The Hibs - Livvy game is a complete joke. Hibs have sold almost 40,000 tickets for the game, whereas Livingston are struggling to fill their allocation. In fairness to Hibs, they knocked us, as well as the huns, out of the competition, but there was probably under half of 40,000 Hibs fans between both of the games.

Cup Finals bring out the gloriest of glory hunters, and they will be there for all to see in the Hibs end on Sunday. It will be interesting to see just how many of their fans will be at Easter Road for their next home league game.

Anyway, the only big game on Sunday is the match involving Celtic. You would probably need to have taken a severe dose of stupid pills to bet against the Hoops, but Motherwell should provide a tough opposition.

David Marshall should start in goals, to give him match practise in case we are forced to play him in Nou Camp. Rab Douglas will appeal his sending off but a U-turn on the referee's decision is highly unlikely. Chris Sutton is still not fit, and will miss tomorrow's game.

Motherwell will play it on the counter attack, and would be over the moon at a 0-0 draw. They will play for the point, and as usual, attempt to kick us off the park. In the past few seasons under Terry Butcher, they have shown themselves up as simply a bunch of neds who kick anything that moves. Most probably, their players tomorrow are just older versions of the bams who attend their home games.

Let's sicken them.
