Bayern Munich v Celtic
UEFA Champions League Matchday 1
Olimpic Stadium, Munich
kick off 7.45pm, Live on Sky Sports Extra

We probably couldn't have picked a harder match to start our Champions League campaign for the season.

Bayern Munich away is the kind of stuff players' dreams are made of, this is what the Champions League is all about.

As I have said before, it's not going to be an easy task, as the Germans at home will always be a difficult proposition. But Bayern will have to be looking at our European performances from last season with caution.

Celtic do have many injury worries ahead of the match, with Paul Lambert, Stephen Crainey, Johan Mjallby and Joos Valgaeren all out. We do though, have good enough replacements in Stan Varga, Michael Gray and Chris Sutton, who will likely drop into midfield.

Baytern are reported to have their own injury worries, how much of this is kidology we do not know. The German Champions were beaten 3-2 at the weekend by Wolfsburg, and will be looking to prove a point to their home fans.

All in all it's going to be a difficult match, but with our experiences from last season, we have the ability to score goals and defend if necessary.

Celtic-Mad Prediction: Bayern Munich 2-2 Celtic
